Troop 493 empowers youth to take charge, explore the outdoors, and make a difference in their community.

Ever since its founding in 2010, Troop 493 has been dedicated to helping youth develop character, confidence, and citizenship as they progress on their Scouting journey.
In addition to our monthly outings, we embark on a week-long camping trip to a national park each spring, like Grand Canyon or Zion. Every summer, Scouts attend summer camp to earn merit badges and learn a range of new skills. Some Scouts also set out on 50-mile backpacking treks through Yosemite and Philmont.
We follow the Patrol Method, where Scouts lead one another under the guidance of experienced adult leaders. Each patrol elects its own leader and makes decisions on campouts, meals, and activities. Senior Scouts mentor younger ones and lead by example.
Our Scouts serve the community through park cleanups, food drives, and service projects that make a lasting impact. From building benches and trails to helping out the Animal Assisted Happiness farm, we cultivate youth that giving back to their community.
